York Office acquired for residential conversion

Pudney Shuttleworth's Richard Fisk has acted for the Skelwith Group in conjunction with Empirica Investments in acquiring Roman House, 4 to 8 Rougier Street York YO1 1JA. This circa 36,500 sq ft vacant office is situated in the heart of the City just off the inner ring road and close to the River Ouse. The well known Cedar Court Grand Hotel, the City's first 5 star, is adjacent and other new hotel, residential and leisure uses abound in the local area.
Skelwith has paid £1,775,000 for the property which was previously owned and occupied by Aviva, albeit within different parts of the business. The price paid equates to under £50 per square foot.
Plans to convert the building to 47 luxury apartments have now been submitted.
